How doing anything daily changed my life

I have a confession to make: I haven’t written a blog post in almost two weeks.

But before you assume I’ve fallen off the wagon, it’s actually quite the opposite. It’s not that I’ve stopped stepping onto my yoga mat every day. In fact, my daily home practice is as steady as ever. The real reason for my silence is that I have recently added three new habits to my daily routine—and managing them has been consuming a massive chunk of my time.

Am I doing these new activities perfectly every single day? Absolutely not.

But here is what this experiment has taught me: If you want to achieve anything substantial in life, you have to show up for it daily. ### Showing Up vs. Showing Off

Adding more to my plate has forced me to look closely at how I manage my energy. It has shown me that achieving a goal isn’t about a single breakthrough moment; it’s about the compounding interest of daily habits.

Even a 30-minute foundational habit, done consistently, creates more momentum than a massive effort that you only pull off once a week. When you do something daily, it stops being a chore and starts becoming part of who you are.

I might be stretched a bit thin at the moment as I balance my mat practice, my writing, and these three new daily disciplines, but my goals have never felt more attainable.

Having said that, I strongly suggest taking whatever activity or goal you want to achieve and committing to it on a daily basis—even if it feels incredibly difficult or overwhelming right now. Give yourself a non-negotiable two-month window. Stick with it daily for at least 60 days, and then take a step back to look at the results.
