Writing about Yoga exercises for eyes is the topic that came into my mind after my eyes started feeling fatigue after too much desktop work.
Like our other body parts, human eyes also need care and attention. With increase usage of laptop and longer time on computer screen, our eyes are left tired. We may also sometimes feel itching or burning sensation. It is again symptom of fatigue for eyes.
Daily few minutes of Yoga exercise will help the strengthen the eye muscles. Here are some of the Yoga steps which can be practiced for few minutes.
Yoga exercises for eyes – First
- Sit in Vajrasana or Lotus Pose.
- Lift your fists with the thumbs free and pointing up .
- You should lift it to your shoulder level and keep them at some distance from each other. Make sure that you are able to see the left thumb with the right eye and right thumb with the left eye.
- Now first look at your left thumb for a count of ten.
- Now change your eye’s position and look up at the center of your eyebrows.
- Again hold the look for 10 counts.
- Now look at the right thumb for 10 counts and again look at the center of eyebrows as done initially for 10 counts.
- Repeat it five times
- After the process is done, close eyes for few seconds.
Yoga exercises for eyes – Second
- Sit in Vajrasana or Lotus Pose.
- Now open your eyes
- Now blink your eyes for 10 times.
- Close your eyes for few seconds (15-20 seconds)
- Now again start blinking your eyes for 10 times very quickly.
- Repeat this exercise for 5 times.
Yoga exercises for eyes – Third
- Lift your right hand with fist closed but thumbs up, at the level of your shoulder and certain distance away from your face. If you keep your hand straight, that maximum distance is fine.
- Now Place left hand down and straight in front, fist closed but thumbs up.
- Look at the left thumb for 5 counts then look at the right thumb for 5 counts
- Repeat it ten times
- Change the hand and repeat ten times
- Close eyes for half a minute
These are small but quick exercise which you can do while sitting in office or in between watching television. I will be sharing some more eye exercise in some other posts.
Till then Happy Practicing.
