How to start home yoga practice: Yoga for everyone

We have learned a lot during these difficult times. We have learned about how simple things matter the most in life. How health is the first and the foremost priority. How important things in life are always free. If we still live in the mode of denial and feeling depressed then we still are in process of exploring. One day we all will realize the importance of this beautiful life.

In order to enjoy this beautiful life, we have to make sure we have good health. The least we can do from our side is to focus on simple things like drinking a good amount of water, avoid eating food which is harmful for our health and doing simple exercise.

We don’t need an expensive gym membership. Everything can start at home like DIY and home yoga practice is such a simple activity that it can be done at home only without any props.

Here are my few tips to start and get your practice in motion.

  1. Make up your mind : This is the most powerful tool and the only one which can keep your practice on track. Shun those lazy thoughts and convince yourself of the benefits of yoga.Once your mind is fixed on the practice, everything will come into place i.e the practice, the time, the routine. Home yoga practice is one of the easiest things to start with.
  2. Start slow : The next step is to fix a time and make sure to try to stick to that time. If it is your first time or you are a veteran, don’t overdue the first few days.Start slow and increase over the period of time.
  3. Understand the style you will be doing: Yoga has many styles. Are you doing the Iyengar style or the Vinyasa style or simple yoga poses. Decide the poses and for how long you are going to do. As said earlier don’t overdue. Start with 15, 20 or 30 mins and ensure you know what all poses you are going to do. With home yoga practice, you can take help from a few youtube videos and decide your own style.This will make sure that you know where to start and where to finish. There won’t be any confusion and you won’t feel the need to give up.
  4. Practice regularly : Make sure to follow the routine and practice Yoga regularly. Decide the intervals yourself and stick to you. Nothing gives the immense satisfaction than the idea of doing a task regularly. You will find yourself improving and learning.Home yoga practice is one of the easiest things to develop a practice.
