Morning routine

If you ask me what do I feel the best time of the day, hands down it will be morning. Yes, I am a morning person. I can list down some of the reasons which make morning as my favorite time of the day.

  • I get some Me time.
  • Everything is so tranquil.
  • Time to chase new targets.
  • Time of the day when we are full of energy.
  • Time to plan a new day.
  • Time for me to stretch my body which keeps me active throughout the day

Are you one of those types who really want to start a morning routine but couldn’t keep it up.

Here are some tips which might help you to start a morning routine.

Tips to start to morning routine

  • Jot down

Have a small diary or note book and plan how to start next day.Every night before I sleep, I make sure that the alarm is set. I maintain a note book for myself where I plan out what various asanas I will be working on.

It is very important to have a sequence while practicing Yoga. Some day you want to break the sequence and skip the usual one, that’s fine.

I plan a night ahead for the asana, I will be working. It helps me to keep my schedule on time and keep me on track.

Same way you can plan on any physical activity. If you are a runner, then aim for the distance you want to run.

If you go to gym, then think about the work-out you would do.

Having a plan ahead adds a discipline in the scheduled.

  • Try to wake up 15 minutes before your usual time

Include waking up a little early in your morning routine

Don’t be over ambitious and set alarm of 5 o’clock. While you really want to get up early, don’t think of waking the next day at this time. Set an alarm,15 minutes before your usual wake up time.

Slowly as you improve on that, keep pushing the limit by 15 more minutes. There will be a day when you will be waking up at 5 in the morning.

  • Don’t turn on the wi-fi or mobile data

    Don't turn on your wifi

Are you social media addict who make sure to keep himself updated? Then take a pause and don’t jump to attach yourself to the virtual world.

Unhook yourself from all such distractions during your morning time. Make sure that your morning routines are your personal. Even your dearest of dear friend can wait for some time.

  • Plan the most important activities that you have to perform throughout the day

This is simple a to-do list thing. Don’t be over ambitious. Try to write down 2-3 important things and try to complete them as early as possible. Award yourself with your best drink or some leisure time for yourself, once you achieve them.

You can start that activity soon after your list is ready.

  • Meditate for five minutes

Before you plunge into the race of the world, just meditate, even if it is for 5 minutes. If you enjoy it, you can add more minutes to it.

I have already read a lot about benefits of meditation.

I again want to start my mediation schedule which has taken a back seat because of the challenge series. However I really don’t want myself to lose on the benefits and have started it doing for at least 5 minutes.
