Over the months, the one good habit that I have developed in my daily routine is drinking lemon water.There are multiples benefits of lemon water. Lemon is a good source of Vitamin C.

“A 100-gram serving of orange  provides you with 53 milligrams of vitamin C, which is 88 percent of the daily value of 60 milligrams per day. This serving equals either one small orange or slightly less than two lemons.” Source

Though many people avoid lemon as it is sour, I used to eat whole fresh lemon in one go.I stopped it after my dentist asked me to stop eating fresh lemon as according to her, it would effect my teeth. She suggested me to have lemonade or some other diluted version of the fruit 🙁

Though I no longer indulge in eating fresh whole lemon, I make sure to drink lemon morning every day in the morning.

So, here are some of benefits of lemon water

Lemons are good source of Vitamin C and Potassium. Whenever our body converts the food that we eat into energy, it produces free radicals. Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant, protecting the cells from the damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are also formed when exposed to UV rays, air pollution, cigarette smoke.

Potassium is an electrolyte.It maintains a healthy blood pressure by controlling the effects of sodium.Hence it maintains fluid balance, controls the electrical activity of the heart and muscles.

I believe this is one of the best benefits of lemon water.

Lemon juice aids your digestion by removing the toxin in your digestive tract. It also helps you to recover from the symptoms like heartburn, bloating and indigestion

  • Makes your skin shine and keeps it blemish free

The antioxidant in the juice keeps your skin blemish free and wrinkle free. Lemon water is effective natural source used for lightening the age spots. It provides radiance to the skin

  • Lemon water helps in reducing your body weight

Some people really doubt whether lemon helps in reducing weight.However lemon has pectin fiber. This fiber helps in keeping your hunger craving in control.

  • Lemon water keeps your system clean

Drinking lemon water regularly, cleans your bowels with greater frequency. Lemon water also aids the digestive system by reducing the diarrhea and constipation.

There are multitude benefits of  lemon water.If all the above mentioned things are really possible with drinking a glass of lemon water in the morning so why not make some lifestyle change and enjoy the benefits.
